Desiree Melegrito teaches Lower School music with Jaysen Rosario. Before coming to Penn Charter, she spent 20 years teaching general and choral music at Chapin School in Princeton, NJ, where she led lower school music classes, conducted choirs, and co-directed the school musical. She has also been a longtime conductor with the Trenton Children’s Chorus in Trenton, NJ. Desiree holds bachelor's and master's degrees in music education and piano performance from Ithaca College and Westminster Choir College. She is also certified in Orff-Schulwerk. Originally from Washington, D.C., she enjoys reading, contradancing, and spending time with friends and family.
