Program Highlights
Do you like to cook or eat food? Have you ever thought about how bread rises or why apples turn brown after being cut? If so, this is the camp for you. During this food science camp, campers will get to learn about the science between many different types of foods and food preparation techniques. In addition, we will be cooking and trying out or food each day. We will learn about how yeast works and how to make break, what an emulsion is and how to make butter, what are enzymes and what does that have to do with milk, and much more. On the last day, we will have a party and combine everything we have learned to create a feast. Campers should wear comfortable clothing and sun protection; we will try to have some outdoor time each day. Please make sure that you send in a list of all food and contact allergies, as well as a list of any foods that your camper cannot eat for any other reason.
